Meg Quigley is an organization dedicated to making the bassoon world diverse, equitable, inclusive, and supportive. We serve bassoonists by providing resources, access, opportunity, and strive to eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of those impacted by systemic oppression in Classical music and beyond. Through our programs, we create a microcosm of the world we want to see, and empower our community to help create that world.

Director of Finance
Position: Director of International Engagement
Position’s purpose: Developing relationships between Meg Quigley and the international bassoon community
Key responsibilities:
Outreach and engagement with the international bassoon community for the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Bassoon Symposium
Oversight of the Latin America Committee
Collaboration with the Competition Committee
Development and Fundraising to benefit Meg Quigley international programs
Management of the Meg Quigley Bassoon Lending Program
Coordination of translation
International dissemination of Meg Quigley communications and materials
Required qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, support, and collaborate with others
Responsive to emails and other forms of communications
Developed organizational skills
Ability to utilize translation tools (such as Google Translate) with collaboration and approval from native speakers within the organization or within the director’s own professional network
Preferred qualifications:
Graduate degree
Experience and connections with the international bassoon community
Some experience with or background in fundraising and development
Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish and/or Portuguese
Familiarity with Google Workspace applications such as Drive, Sheets, and Docs
Bassoonist or former bassoonist
Reporting relationship: This position works in collaboration with other members of the Meg Quigley Executive Team and reports directly to the Executive Director of Meg Quigley.
Work schedule and location: This position is almost entirely remote and allows for variable work hours that can be decided upon by the successful candidate. Attendance is required at the Meg Quigley Symposia. Attendance is expected for virtual meetings scheduled with members of the Executive Team, as well as periodically with the Latin America and Competition Committees.
Benefits: This is a fully volunteer position with no salary. The person who occupies this position will have the ability to make a lasting impact on the bassoon world by contributing their expertise/time to an organization that fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive bassoon community by providing resources, access, and opportunities to those impacted by systemic oppression in classical music. Additional benefits include free registration and housing for Meg Quigley Bassoon Symposia.
